Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Nothing Much, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s part of our roots.
We grew up in Sri Lanka, where coconut water came straight from the tree — fresh, untouched, and abundant. That experience shaped our values: a deep respect for nature, and a belief that doing things the right way matters.
When we couldn’t find truly pure coconut water in sustainable packaging, we decided to build it ourselves — from the ground up. That meant creating our own small-scale production line, where we could oversee everything from how the coconuts are farmed to how each can is filled. No shortcuts, no big corporations — just a team that cares about what we’re making and how we’re making it.
Our factory runs on ethical, people-first principles. We support smallholder farmers, ensure fair wages, promote equal opportunities, and give back through grassroots education initiatives like our Annual School Book Project.
We also keep our environmental impact as low as possible. All our packaging — from the cans to the boxes — is fully recyclable and biodegradable. Because what we take from the earth, we should always give back with care.
This is coconut water made the way we believe it should be — clean, fair, and responsible. Because sustainability doesn’t need to shout. It just needs to show up every day, in every can.
Fairtrade Advocates
We’re committed to fair trade practices that prioritise people over profit. Our coconuts are sourced from smallholder farmers who are paid fairly and supported through sustainable agricultural methods. We work within the Sustainable Agri Farm Enterprises Network (SAFENet), a collaborative platform that strengthens rural farming communities through ethical sourcing, training, and transparency. This ensures that every can of Nothing Much supports not just hydration, but a healthier, more equitable supply chain.
Employee Welfare
At Nothing Much, we believe that looking after the people who bring our product to life is just as important as the product itself.
We offer on-site accommodation to all our factory workers, creating a safe, welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home.
All meals are provided during working hours at our factory locations, ensuring everyone is well-nourished and cared for throughout the day.
Our welfare programme supports employees across multiple areas:
Financial Support – We offer financial assistance for home improvements, children's education, and other family-related needs. Loans are granted based on earnings and circumstances, with management discretion.
Education – We provide free school books for all employees’ children to support long-term educational development.
Maternity Support – To support mothers returning to work, we offer a special maternity allowance, including additional support for carers. For women living on-site, this includes a child care allowance designed to ease the transition back into the workplace.
By supporting our team in meaningful ways, we aim to build not just a business — but a strong, sustainable community.
Equal Opportunity Workplace
We champion diversity and inclusivity in our workplace. By fostering an environment where everyone has equal access to opportunities, regardless of gender, background, or ability, we cultivate a culture of respect and collaboration that drives innovation and success.
Annual School Book Project
Education is a cornerstone of community development. Through our Annual School Book Project, we donate educational materials to schools in need, aiming to improve literacy rates and provide students with the resources they need to succeed. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation.
Certified for Quality & Safety
Sustainability means nothing without quality. That’s why every can of Nothing Much is produced in our family-run facility under the strictest global food safety standards.
We are proud to be certified by both FSSC 22000 and BRCGS internationally recognised benchmarks for food safety, hygiene, and traceability. These certifications ensure that from the moment a coconut is harvested to the second it’s sealed in a can, every step is carefully controlled and regularly audited.
Because when we say “Nothing Added Nothing Taken Away,” we don’t just mean the ingredients we mean integrity, too.
